Dana M. Foley advises on a broad range of sophisticated income and transfer tax planning strategies for ultra-high net worth individuals and their families. Dana’s practice has a strong focus on advising entrepreneurs and principals of private equity funds, hedge funds and venture capital funds, and owners of both public corporations as well as closely-held businesses in pre-liquidity, pre-IPO, and pre-transaction estate planning. Dana has also developed an expertise in planning with Qualified Small Business Stock and the unique income tax planning opportunities available to clients owning such stock. In addition to transactional planning, Dana has also cultivated a niche fiduciary practice of advising wealthy multi-generational families in establishing and administering private trust companies and family offices.
Prior to joining Accelerant Law, Dana practiced in the Trusts & Estates and Private Client Services Departments of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP and Proskauer Rose LLP in Washington, D.C. Dana is a nationally recognized speaker and an author of numerous publications on wealth transfer planning and business succession planning. Dana is a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel and is a current Chair of the Operating Business Committee of the American Bar Association's Real Property, Trusts and Estates Section.
